South Whittier Insulation and Spray Foam, southwhittierinsulation.com, hello@southwhittierinsulation.com
Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the South Whittier Insulation and Spray Foam website and any work you hire us to do. By browsing the site, sending us a request or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you do. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean South Whittier Insulation and Spray Foam, and "you" means the homeowner, tenant, property manager or business owner using the site or hiring us.
What we do
We're an insulation contractor in South Whittier, CA, serving homes and businesses in South Whittier and the cities around it. Our work includes attic insulation, blown-in insulation, which is loose fill blown through a hose, spray foam, insulation removal, air sealing, crawl space and wall insulation, and vapor barriers. You can read more about who we are on our About page, and the home page lists our services.
The service descriptions on this site are general. What we actually do at your property is set out in the written estimate or agreement for your job, and if that document and this page disagree, the written estimate or agreement wins.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure on the visit, such as the size of the attic, how many inches of insulation are already up there and how easy it is to get in.
Some things only show up once the job is open, like old insulation that's wet or full of droppings, gaps around lights and pipes that need sealing first, or damaged framing. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you and explain the change before doing extra work, and we won't charge for added work you haven't approved.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed, so we may need to update the price before scheduling.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We book jobs by date and arrival window, and we'll let you know as soon as we can if weather, a material delay or an earlier job pushes us back. You agree to give our crew safe access to the work areas, including the attic hatch or crawl space entry, and to clear stored items and keep kids and pets out of the way while we work.
Some products, spray foam in particular, need you and your household to stay out of the house for a set time after we spray, which is called the re-entry time. We'll tell you that time before the job, and you agree to follow it because it's there for your family's health.
If you need to cancel or move your appointment, call us or use our Contact page as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or turned other work away for your date, we may charge for those costs, and we'll tell you about any such charge when you book.
Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are written on your estimate or agreement. Unless that document says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work until the account is paid, and you'll be responsible for reasonable costs we incur to collect what's owed, as far as California law allows.
Our work and warranties
We're licensed and fully insured, and we stand behind our work. If something about the job isn't right, tell us and we'll come back and make it right, because satisfaction is guaranteed.
Insulation products carry their own warranties from the companies that make them. We'll pass along any product warranty that comes with the materials we install, and those warranties are handled under the maker's terms, not ours.
Beyond what's written in your agreement and the makers' warranties, we don't promise any particular result, such as a specific drop in your power bill or a set temperature upstairs, because that depends on things outside our work, like your windows, your HVAC system and how you use the house. To the extent California law allows, we disclaim other implied warranties.
Limits on our liability
We're responsible for doing the work we agreed to do with reasonable care. To the extent California law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost rent, lost business or higher utility costs, and our total liability for any claim about a job won't be more than what you paid us for that job.
We also aren't responsible for problems that were already there before we started, such as hidden leaks, pests, mold or wiring issues, unless our work caused them or made them worse. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Using this website
The information on this site is general and meant to help you understand insulation work. It isn't advice for your specific house, so check with us or the right local office before relying on it for a decision.
The words, photos and design on this site belong to South Whittier Insulation and Spray Foam. You're welcome to read and share links to our pages, but please don't copy them for commercial use without asking us first. Links to other websites are there for convenience, and we aren't responsible for what those sites say or do.
Resolving disagreements
If you're unhappy with our work or a bill, please call us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly once we're talking, and we'd rather fix it than argue about it.
If we can't settle it between us, either side may take the matter to small claims court or to a court in Los Angeles County, California, unless your written agreement says otherwise.
California law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the latest version will always be on this page. Changes apply to site use and work booked after they're posted, and a signed agreement for a job already booked keeps its own terms.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Questions about these terms
If anything here isn't clear, call us at (562) 358-3003 or send a message through our Contact page, and we'll explain it in plain terms. We reply within 1 business day.
